U8 - U10 Teams

Teams will compete in the PSPL Development League with the majority of the games held at Starfire Sports complex in Tukwila, Salmon Bay Elementary in Ballard and Seattle Celtic's home at Magnuson Park. Games will be played on turf fields built specifically for this age group with modified goals and field dimensions.

Fall season will run for 12 weeks from August 24 until November 15. Teams will practice twice a week, primarily at Magnuson Park. Practices will last 60 minutes for U8 and U9 teams (players born in 2013, 2012) and 75 minutes for U10 teams (players born in 2011). All teams will play 8 games over the course of the season.

The cost is $650 for U8-U9 (2013 and 2012) teams and $675 for U10 (2011) teams.

Cost covers:

-League Registration/ Referee Fees/Game Fields

-Coaching Fees and Coaching Education

-Field Rentals for Practices

-US Club Player Cards and Insurance

-Online Portal Costs

-Club Admin/Equipment Costs

Spring season will replicate the Fall season in terms of cost and season length (February 1 - April 25).

Eager players will also have the option of taking part in a third practice each week with a mix of players from different teams at their age group. These one hour practices will focus on improving ball mastery and a player's technical skills. There will be a few different schedule options to help ensure this program doesn't clash with a player's regular practices. The program will run for eight weeks from late August until mid October and cost $125. Registration will open following team formation in early May.

We have included the plan for each age group below. For more info about Registration, Uniforms, Coaching Slate, Year-Round Calendar and Tournaments visit our 2020/21 Quick Overview.

To get a taste for the style of soccer we try to get all our teams playing, here is a brief clip of our B06 Green team from March 2015, when the boys were 8 years old. At Seattle Celtic we are determined to continue placing long-term player development over the short term gratification of results and we feel in time, our attractive brand of soccer will ultimately pave the way for every team and player in the club reaching their potential!

Tentative Plan For Each Age Group

2011 Boys

We currently have 9 teams for the Spring 2020 season and so coaches will select teams based on their assessments of players from Spring. Typically we have an additional 20-30 new players join during the Spring tryout. Initially we will place these new players in a pool ahead of finalizing Fall season rosters in mid August.

2012 Boys

We also currently have 9 teams at this age group for the Spring 2020 season and so coaches will select teams based on their assessments of players from Spring. Typically we have an additional 30-40 new players join during the Spring tryout. Initially we will place these new players in a pool ahead of finalizing Fall season rosters in mid August.

2013 Boys

We currently have 3 teams for the Spring 2020 season. Typically we have an additional 40-50 new players join during the Spring tryout for this age group. While coaches have a good idea of the placement of our current players, our plan is to invite ALL 2013s to a player pool. We will form tentative teams for jamborees and team camps ahead of finalizing Fall season rosters in mid August.

Some 2013 teams will play in the league (similar to 2011 and 2012 age groups), while others will play in the Pre-Dev Program. Since the youngest age group of the league we play is 2012, the 2013 league teams would play up in this division for the Fall. Playing up a year may not be the best fit for all 2013 teams though, and so we will have these teams initially play in the Pre-Dev program for the Fall, with a view to playing in the league come Spring 2021 (first games are Feb 2021). As always, we will make our decision based on what is best for the long-term development of our players.

2011 Girls

We currently have 5 teams for the Spring 2020 season and so coaches will select teams based on their assessments of players from Spring. Typically we have an additional 20-30 new players join during the Spring tryout. Initially we will place these new players in a pool ahead of finalizing Fall season rosters in mid August.

2012 Girls

We currently have 4 teams for the Spring 2020 season and so coaches will select teams based on their assessments of players from Spring. Typically we have an additional 20-30 new players join during the Spring tryout. Initially we will place these new players in a pool ahead of finalizing Fall season rosters in mid August.

2013 Girls

We currently have 2 teams for the Spring 2020 season and so coaches will select teams based on their assessments of players from Spring. Typically we have an additional 10-20 new players join during the Spring tryout.

Extra Information

One of the unique things about Celtic is that we also hold a January tryout so adjust player placement based on development and so new players should be aware that they will have another opportunity to move to a higher level team at this time. Players performing well on their teams will also have opportunities to guest with higher level teams over the course of the Fall season.
